Redefining Narratives About Romantic Love

  • Movement Culture 435 East 9th Street Tucson, AZ, 85705 United States (map)

This All Bodies Rise Yoga (ABRY) workshop offers opportunity to reconsider personal and social myths about romantic love, and how those narratives impact our self worth, disillusionment, and oppression. This workshop will include nurturing journal work, group council, and gentle yoga. It will also help release tension, stress, and embodied trauma. Please bring a journal and pen, comfortable clothes to move and stretch, and your amazing self.

Hosts: Jeniffer Zimmerman is a yoga teacher and mental health therapist in Tucson, Arizona. She has over 20 years experience as a social worker and group facilitator. Jeniffer teaches yoga classes that support healing from systematic body dysmorphia, and incorporates mindfulness into her therapy practice. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in sociology, a Master’s degree in counseling psychology, and is a LPC, and 200RYT.

Cori Runyon is a Yoga Alliance Registered 200hr certified yoga teacher. She received her 200hr certification at Yoga Tree in San Francisco in June 2015 and currently resides and teaches various yoga classes in Tucson, AZ. Cori aims to encourage her students to create an accepting and loving relationship with their body as it is now. In the face of constant media and cultural messages telling everyone they will never be or look good enough, Cori's goal is to help students quiet those messages, quiet their mind and awaken to the true beauty of their being through yoga and meditation.
