It is estimated that young people today see more images of unattainable beauty ideals in one day than our parents did in their entire adolescence. Modern media has created mass body dysmorphia, which leads to wide-spread mental health issues and eating disorders. Many of our students come to the mat in search of a new way to love their bodies.
ABRY offers education for teachers in your studio, both as modules that fit into 200hr/500hr teacher trainings, and as stand-alone workshops. Teachers are supported in examining personal and cultural narratives about their bodies and invited into a more truthful and compassionate relationship with embodiment. Additional topics include teaching with trauma sensitivity, use of body positive language, supporting mental wellness in yoga spaces, and incorporating social justice as a practice of Ahimsa.
